Metal Powders

Our metallurgists specialize in the design, development and production of specialty metal powders manufactured through advanced high-pressure water atomization technology. We work alongside our customers to develop custom metal alloy powder solutions to exacting specifications for critical applications.

Our expertise and nearly 50 years of history in water atomization of specialty metal powder products has led us to supply a huge number of market sectors ranging from automotive to semiconductor to aerospace across the test globe.

Water Atomization Process
We employ an advanced high-pressure water atomization process to engineer highly customized metal powder. Our technology is proven to achieve fine particle size distributions, enabling our metallurgists to produce precision metal powder products.

Stainless Steel Powders
We’re experts in engineering standard grade and custom stainless steel powders for a variety of applications. Typical grades include: 303L, 304L, 316L, 409L/CB, 410L, 430L, 434L/CB, as well as HP Ultras in SS303L, SS304L, SS316L. In additional to the above, we have produced many of the rarer stainless steels for select applications.

Specialty Metal Powders
Specialty metal powder in a wide variety of alloys for applications including fuel cells, coatings, plastic compounding, and magnetics. Specialty alloys include Inconel®, Monel®, Hastelloy®, Fe-Cr, Fe-Al, Ni-Cr-B-Si, Ni, NiCr, NiAl, NiCrAl, Fe-Ni, Tribaloy®, SS 17-4 PH and numerous custom Fe, Ni, and Co based materials.

Tool Steel Powder
Tool steel metal powder products are used in applications where extremely high hardness and wear resistance are key attributes of the finished part. Typical Tool Steel alloys include: M-2, M3-2, M3-5, M4-2, D2, and T15.

Stainless Steel Flake
Premium-quality stainless steel flake, leaf, and paste manufactured through our unique process. Advantages include excellent corrosion and abrasion resistance. Ideally suited for high-performance protective paints and maintenance coatings. Available in standard leaf, fine leaf and paste form.

Powder Metallurgy (PM) Powders
Our world class metal powders are pressed and sintered around the world to achieve near net shapes. Advantages include high customization such as size, alloy and properties, and lot size. PM Applications include lock hardware, appliance parts, exhaust system components and more. PM is a green net shape or near net shape technology!

Metal Filter Powders
Our sintered filter grade powders are specially atomized to give the highly irregular shape and narrow particle size required for precision filtration. Alloys include stainless steel and high-strength nickel powders for porous liquid and gas filtration in sectors including petrochemical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, and semiconductor production.

Fiber Production - Polyester Spinning and Liquid Polymer Filtration Powders
The irregular shapes of our metal fiber powders are extremely effective at shearing and filtering liquid polymer microgels in the spin pack to achieve the highest quality in polyester and nylon fiber production. Alloys include: 316L, DP-1, and other custom alloys.

Surface Coating Metal Powders
Our surface coating and hardfacing powders are used to improve the performance of a metal component by enhancing properties such as hardness, corrosion, and heat resistance. Typical coatings include stainless steels as well as nickel and cobalt based wear alloys. Applications include oil field equipment, agricultural equipment, and aerospace coatings.

Plastic Compounding Metal Powders
Fine stainless steel metal powders for plastic compounding to achieve unique properties such as detectability, wear performance, or magnetic properties. Metal plastic additive products are used in demanding applications where performance beyond the base polymer is needed. Markets include Food, Pharmaceuticals, Automotive, Energy, and Defense.

Metal Injection Molding (MIM) Powders
We have the expertise to produce and process superfine metal powders down to 10 microns for MIM applications. MIM powder products include 17-4PH®, 70/30 FeCr and Stainless Steels for sectors including automotive and industrial engineering.
